"This past weekend was DualShockers' first foray into the world of competitive gaming. The WCG 209 US Final was host to many different titles spanning all genres, but the titles we felt more closely related to our readers were mostly those found on consoles. Out of all the games, the one that excited the crowd the most (by far) had to be Gears of War 2, with every headshot drawing "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd. What can I say, people like blood.

For the championship round had I had a chance to chat with a member of Team Legacy before and after their final match against Raw Talent. Part of the Empire Arcadia crew, and managed by the "Jay-Z" of competitive gaming, Triforce (I say that because Triforce and his company Empire Arcadia have teams for just about every major title out there). The player I had a chance to speak with was Richie AKA Terra, a local guy from the boogie-down Bronx who from what I can see, is the backbone for his team. The rest of the guys on the team are "Ribs" "Perfect Uno" and "Mephisto".

Halo 3: ODST preorders reach 1.35m the week before release as Wii Fit Plus makes a first appearance. Uncharted 2 also sees a strong increase this week.

Final Halo 3 preorders reached nearly 1.35 million this week, which should be good for an opening of nearly 2 million units in the Americas alone (over 2.5 million worldwide). VGChartz will be posting day 1 numbers when they become available in the next couple of days so stay tuned. Uncharted 2 saw a large boost this week as the marketing push begins for the game. Speaking at the LG event today was Futurologist Ian Pearson, who explained that he used to work in the missile industry and that a 2ms response time on monitors was vital in his job.

"We used to design head-up displays for fighter pilots to try and kill things on the battlefield. One of the really key bits of information I remember back then is 'two milliseconds'," explained Pearson.

Whenever I ask people what was the best RTS game they have ever played they usually respond with Starcraft or the early Warcraft games. Indeed those games were great in their own right, but what helped them become so great was the fact that they were exclusive to the PC. Sure I have a PC, but it is slow as window molasses (and yes that stuff is real). My computer makes the games I used to love and enjoy into something that makes me want to bash my face in with a mallet. So since my PC is ruled out, I have to turn to my consoles. It truly saddens me to say that there are no where near as many RTS games on the console then there are on the PC.

I find that hard to believe that there is a small amount of RTS games on consoles considering the market penetration. What prevents the game developers from creating them? Lack of a keyboard? Valve today revealed the third of five campaigns for Left 4 Dead 2, Dark Carnival, and Eurogamer popped round to the firm's Bellevue office to try it out.

The Jockey's a right pain in the neck, appearing out of nowhere and hopping onto one of the survivors' backs. He or she then loses control of movement, allowing the Jockey to steer the pair into dangerous territory, where other infected can pile on the damage.
