U.S. video gamers spent less on games, hardware and accessories in May compared with a year ago, a sign that this year's release schedule couldn't compete with Take Two Interactive's "Grand Theft Auto IV" last spring.

No, 2008 was a marked year for EA because it was the year their new IP Spore was launched and downloaded illegally more than 1.7 million times in the last quarter, making it the most pirated game of all time according to Torrent Freak.
